Hi All

Just looking for some advise on where to take matter from here.

Been having huge issues with my connection speeds from Vodafone over the last 3 months. I have had my internet speeds drop to below 300kb/s. Please read Vodafone response to my request below. Please note that 3 months prior, I use to have download speeds of about 800kb/s. At this time the Vodafone technicial said that I should have fast download speeds than this in my area.

Thanks for your email. A fault was lodged for the slow speed you have been experiencing. The results came back as you were showing as connecting at 256kbps sync rate at the exchange for your downstrem speed and 160kbps for your up speed. The profile your connection has been changed and your sync rates are now 512kbps downstream / 160kbps upstream. They have also noted that you are 4.2KM from the exchange. Broadband is not able to be connected at all for customers who are 5KM or more from the exchange so you are just within in the range to get broadband. Please ensure you have filters on all your jackpoints. If you had wiring done and had a dedicated jackpoint installed this may or may not improve your connection. This would cost $149.00. Due to the volume of calls we recieve we are unable to call customers , I apologise for this.

What is everyones thoughts? I wouldnt mind some advise on where to take things from here? As this does seem to be another long line of lies that Vodafone have feed me.

If you dont have a proper install, then pay the $149 and get one, and then see if it improves.

What sync rates are you paying for?  If they accidently placed you to 256kbps when you should have been faster and hasnt I would be wanting a refund of some sort!!
