I signed up for Fusion/VFX and was just wondering what are the steps (in order) it is set up in?

The first and only email i have received so far gave me my VFX login details etc. My VOIP line works all good, but my telecom line is still active and so is my internet. Is this the correct order?

I assume it is

1. VFX
2. cut line
3. port number
4. change over broadband

is this correct? and also do you receive emails after each step?

cheers?

1. Temp VFX number assigned (make sure you have provisioning link in your VFX hardware)
2. Broadband churn to Xnet (if other ISP)
3. Broadband churn to N-DSL & lose land-line (2 & 3 can happen at same time)
4. Customer link (diversion) your land-line number to temp VFX number. This can take up to 48 hours, during which calls to you land-line number will not connect. During this time, you should have Internet & VFX on temp number operational.
5. After customer link in place, number port is ordered
6. 3-4days later, number port happens, replacing your temp VFX number with you land-line number & process is complete.

NB: at steps 2 & 3, you will need to update ADSL router with Xnet log in if applicable.

Thanks Coffeebaron. Looking at that list i must be a step 1 as i have my temp number assigned but no internet change yet.
I think the provisioning etc is all set up as it all works 100%. Good to have a checklist to go by now.

I think it also depends on your current setup also as to when you get the email...
I was previously an Xnet HSI and VFX customer, and have just completed the switch to Fusion today. For me it went..

Wednesday/Thursday - signup
Friday - Naked DSL enabled, no more telecom line.
Monday - Customer link enabled
Today - revieved email, number port occurr.

I have just completed the Fusion with VOIP VFX and phone number porting process while overseas. Just got back, tested Fusion and VFX - all seems to be working well.

Was prevoiusly on Xnet HSI broadband without VFX.

The timeline for my Fusion with VFX was as follows:

Monday: Signup to Xnet Fusion and VFX
Wednesday: Email notification of VFX with phone number
Monday: 9am Standard phoneline went dead; 5pm phone number porting complete and Fusion broadband activated.

It will be interesting to see how my son gets on. I bought a new AG310 last week and told my son he could have my PAP2T. He is at the first step. He signed up for fusion today.

There were complaints of lack of communications since the start, but it sounds like the recent big complaint on GZ might have prompted for it to be significantly improved.

It appears from other posts and my experience that it takes about 2 days to set up the VOIP/VFX line then 7 days do change the phone line over. I have hit a snag with Telecom apparently not recognising my account number for some reason, so its holding up the process though

As an update for anyone interested....

1. Rung up xnet and ordered fusion - Mon 28th July
2. VFX setup and email recieved - Thur 31st July
3. Internet changed from xtra to xnet - Wed 6 July (would have been quicker but issur with telecom)

So still waiting for ph line to be cut and number to be ported over. I hope it happens before the end of the week as I want to rid myself from telec0m for good.

Positives for Xnet so far, short ph waiting times on support lines and my internet speed owns what i was getting on xtra.Cool

Well I can now report about my sons setup. This was a complete brand new connection No phoneline or previous broadband on line as he had just shifted into the house hes living in.

1. Rung Xnet to arrange fusion Monday 4th August

2. Welcome to Xnet email arrived Wednesday 6th August and we thought that he had naked dsl activated on his phoneline already
as email stated that services were ready to enjoy but found out that Telecom werent putting naked dsl on until yesterday
    Monday 11th.

3. Broadband connected and number ported to VFX Monday the 11th.

A couple of footnotes here. Firstly he has shifted house 3 times now this year and was able to get his old disconnected number from the first flat he lived in ported to VFX. His girlfriend informs me this will be the last shift now until they decide to buy a house. Second we had a bit of an ordeal trying to get my PAP2T which I was using, to grab its settings from Xnet and a bit of playing around with it today and it finally grabbed them so son and girlfriend have now got all their fusion services in the stated 2 - 10 day timeframe.
