I thought I'd start another thread perhaps for reviewing music you have listened to.

Please be respectful of other peoples music preferences, it would be good if in the thread, people can freely voice their own preferences without it trampling on others opinions.

I'll start:

Simple Plan - Get your heart on.  8/10 from me, I love this album, and I enjoyed their initial album too. My favourite track  - Astronaut. As they have got older the pitch of the lead singers voice has dropped a little and this makes the entire album a little easier to listen to.

Matchbox 20 - 8/10 - Fairly similar to their other stuff, catchy, engaging.

Alanis Morisette - Bright Lights and Havoc. I am a fan of Alanis, and this album is pretty typical of hers I think, though I haven't listened to it a lot so I'll reserve my judgement, and say the track I like a lot is Guardian which I'd rate a solid 8.5/10

Recent great album for me is Ihsahn - Eremita 9/10 album of the year, definitely not everyone's cup of tea as it is heavily influenced by Black Metal but this album is art, highlights for me being The Paranoid, Something out there and Introspection.

On the more easy listening side of things I am having renewed fondness for Dax Riggs album - We Sing of Only Blood or Love, it's a dirty blues album with dark lyrics and some very pretty passages. Hard to pick standout tracks from this, most of them are.

Some recent albums which have got more playtime than normal recently and a selected track from each courtesy youtube...

Air - Virgin Suicides

Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother

The Who - The Who Sell Out

Hedwig and the Angry Inch Soundtrack (Stephen Trask)

Kate Bush - The Kick Inside

Camel - The Snow Goose

I have just discovered www.livefromdarrylshouse.com. It's a live music show where the band plays the guest stars song. Really interesting.

Hmm, haven't found much new lately, but this thread needs more Icelandic indie and post-rock. I'm sure most of you have heard them, but for the couple who haven't:

And something a little different:

EDIT: Oops, you can select quality when embedded; so select a decent quality setting

Ghost and Devin Townsend.

Plus a playlist of songs I'm learning to jam on tomorrow with a couple of ex-members of my old band.

The music is not really my cup of tea but love the vid.  Which one is you?

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

I left a bit before they started getting into slick videos like that.

Sadly the best I have to offer with me in it is this very low-budget affair:

I was the first frontman.

Just been listening to Cat Power's new album Sun. So far I like the two tracks King Drives By and Cherokee. The rest are growing on me. 8.5/10

Also getting back to my roots and been listening to Peter Tosh's greatest hits. Good stuff 9/10.

I've been thrashing The Deftones - White Pony in the car since I picked it up on special at JB a couple weeks ago. I also got White Zombie's Astrocreep 2000, but that's not clicking with me quite as much.
