I have just tried accessing the Whale Oil blog website but am getting a 500 Internal Server Error. Is this due to a genuine server issue or has the website been stomped on by the courts?

I'd go on a Vegan diet but the delivery time from Vega is too long.

Yeah I get a database access error. Trying to figure out the code he put on the site when I did get in.

I saw that and it is a silly move, coming from a person who's already in front of the courts on the same matters...

I have decoded the headline as:

"I feel sorry for the others"

But I cannot work out how to decode the binary, all I get is a string of numbers

Can anybody help me?

.....c'mon sucker lick my battery........
binary solo...0000110000110000111...

The site is back up. I have heard from my tech support that apparently the traffic took out a Mosso cluster, whatever that means, so they shut it down.

They didn't bother to contact me though, or my provider so there will be compensation coming.

Cheers

You took out an entire Rackspace Cloud cluster? That must have been a hell of a traffic spike!

He only had 25k pageviews for the day, must be exceptionally poor hosting infrastructure.

I'm a load and performance tester :) You'd need to get a copy of the logs and the traffic profiles to see what it was that made the site fall over - I love my job.
