Hi There!

Anyone know of someone offering installation of DSL master filters in Queenstown? My sister likely has a filtering issue on her connection and for some reason Telecom/xtra won't send someone onsite to install one, saying they don't offer it.

Huh? Sounds wrong to me.

You can request a splitter install (that's what we call it, although I have argued it should be called by it's proper name Master Filter for a while). The install is $200 and you sign up for a 12 month contract with that.

If she is in VDSL coverage or on the fringe it's a cheaper option to get VDSL installed since that included the Master Filter.

Email me "pl at telecom.co.nz" with your sisters account number and home phone number and I can take a look into whats going on. Or you can message me here on geekzone :).

Hi There!

I actually emailed you twice last week about the trouble she had but I didn't get any reply for some reason. I'll ping you via PM here and see what happens.

Sorry 'bout that :)... My "screen networkn" filter was on. I've replied to you, and said VDSL is the way to go :)
