Looking on both of their facebook pages, they both have A LOT of complaints. Which is truly better, please answer if you have had experience with them or if you know what they're like!

Cheers :D

I don't think you'd really have a problem with either but this is a speedtest to LA just now (peak time) on 2degrees

for every complaint there will be hundreds of good stories, as you generally only every hear the bad stories, so basing it on that is not a very good method for choosing an ISP

Number of complaints isn't the thing to look for.
Look for the responses. How quick do they respond? Are the responses genuinelt trying to help?

Remember Spark cater for close to half of all the broadband connections in the country. You don't do that by mistake.
Therected will always be complainers but at the end of the day I think they do a pretty alright job.

Of those options I'd go with 2degrees. Good performance 24/7, when it has gone down due to Chorus issues they've been fine to deal with. Native IPv6 too.

If you're looking for naked internet, check out Bigpipe as well.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

BigPipe if you're going naked or Spark. I've found 2degrees service to be quite atrocious personally. But, as others have stated there are people who have had good service. I personally like how with either BigPipe or Spark you're able to use any router you desire.

Having just changed from Slingshot to 2degrees, I cant speak highly enough for the speed it happened and the friendly and helpful service. Changeover from the time I phoned was 24 hours, (there modem hadn't even had time to turn up) the nice lady at 2degrees I spoke to sorted me out quickly, just had to change user name and password in old modem and the Internet was back. So far, speed tests and using the internet, I have no complaints.smile

I know _many_ people who have fled 2degrees since they brought out Snap, due to the customer service levels just taking a total nosedive.

Personally I'd take Spark out of the two.

Spark or Bigpipe (for more value and if you are going naked).

I'm with 2D - was snap customer and stuck with them.

Only rung them 2-3 in the last year - once querying call charges (their billing was correct) and once to reset a forgotten password.

(Can't recall why the other time).

I recall time to answer has been quick (20 sec) and time has been long (20+ mins).

But mostly I can ignore them, now that its set up it just works and normally I don't have to call them.

2D pricing for me is cheaper than others and since it just works I've stuck with them.

HI,

My address is now fibre ready as of today. What do you recommend the best internet provider. Bigpipe or Spark?

I ask Spark how long it will be connected to fibre it will take 3 to 5 weeks.  Any ideas about the installation time for bigpipe?

THanks

Fibre install times will the same regardless of the RSP you go with.
