Hi all,

long time reader, first time poster here.

I've always been able to fix my own pc issues but this one has me stumped.

about 5 days ago my pc running 64 bit windows started getting blue screens and i'm not sure why.

so if somebody is bored at work or something, and knows what they are doing, it would be awesome if you could take a look at my logs.

even if all you say is "problem with hdd" or "problem with motherboard" then i at least know where to start looking, because right now i'm totally in the dark.

I'm really sorry i don't know how to make the below information into spoilers so prepare for wall of text.

This is from the dialog box that says "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown"

Removed the long XML because it won't help much... Blue screen can be mainly happening for those few factors:

old driver/not compatible driver
RAM memory sticks failing
RAM memory sticks not properly seated
HDD failing
motherboard failing
overheating
video card failing

Things to do:

Apply latest Windows Update
If you have overclocked your system, turn it back to the default speeds.
If you have not updated drivers in a long time, do it now.
Run Windows 7 Memory Diagnostics overnight with all options set to make sure RAM is not the problem
Remove any extra cards you have, one by one
Test the HDD for physical errors

Get hold of UBCD and start testing your memory/hdd etc with it - BSOD can be a pain to troubleshoot.

If the bluescreen created a minidump, then a program like BlueScreenView can reveal what triggered the crash. I recently used it to figure out that a repeatable bluescreen was due to a network driver that came with a VPN program.

Hi guys thanks for all your help so far,

I'm currently downloading ubcd4win, its going to be about half an hour

i just used bluescreenview also, it's highlighted some files

i've got tons of minidump files dating all the way back to november 2012, and these files consistently are highlighted. the only thing that changes are the codes in the second box from the left (ie nvlddmkm.sys+8e4134 is repated, but sometimes changes to 9336ac)

a very brief google search seems to implicate nvidia drivers so i am going to look at doing a clean install of those. i still plan on testing everything once ubcd is completed though.

if anyone has had the above files play up before and fixed them, feel free to drop me a bell haha,
