I am trying to forward some ports and am using a utility called PortForward. to analyse the router it uses IE. I can connect to the HG659 using Chrome and Firefox by typing in the IP address, but when I do that with IE I just get some odd page that say Huawei HG659 with no options to log in or any other visual. This is only an issue with Internet Explorer.

has anyone else seen tis and, if so, what wa your solution? I have turned off all the security parameters with IE, but still no luck.

Give up on IE and use a real browser :)

I wouldn't suggest letting a third-party tool configure your router like this, there's a guide showing you how to do it yourself here:

What are you trying to get going with the port forwarding?

Normally I use Firefox and not IE, but the application uses IE. Regardless, I should still be able to access this modem through IE.

I am port forwarding so I can access my IP cameras remotely. I use DYNDNS and can get as far as the router, which tells me I am logging in from an invalid IP.

I'll check out the link, but I find most NZ telecoms are not very user friendly when it comes to their hardware.

Not necessarily, some routers will be picky with browsers, could be IE version specific...

What port are you trying to connect to the cameras on? http / https?

Click Internet, Forwarding, Create a "New Port Mapping"

Call it whatever you want, choose the appropriate application (I'm assuming this will be "SecureWebServer(HTTPS)" )

Then choose the appropriate internal host (i.e. your camera / NAS)

Are you trying to access the cameras directly or are they connected to a NAS of some sort?
