Hi all,

I've done a search and see a few similar queries but I haven't seen any specific to the router we've just purchased to replace the old grey Vodafone Box.

I was able to follow the set up instructions through the app and changed the prescribed settings as per PB Techs instructions to update the VLAN ID and PRIO to 10 and 0, however it remains as no internet connected and the red light for the internet connection on the router itself.

As I'm not an expert at this stuff, is there something else that I need to change? I'm hoping someone else has this and has worked out what's needed to get it connected.

Thanks in advance for any replys and help provided, it is really appreciated.

Cheers,

Dan

I did follow those, but the problem is still there.

I'm not sure if there are any other settings that need to be changed, hence asking/hoping someone else has got it sorted 😀

Thanks for the reply though!

It was in LAN2 last night when I attempted the setup - when I reattempt later tonight should I try in LAN1?

I plugged the old one back in last night as needed to be hooked back up for kids to stream stuff this morning.

Thank you for your time! Much appreciated!

Only one ONT port is active. Use same port your old router was connected to.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

To eliminate all the options, are you plugging in the fibre box to the new Asus’s WAN port?

alternatively, you could have a faulty router.

All I have literally done is swap out from the WAN port from the existing (which was working), and plugged in to the WAN port for the ASUS, and followed the set up instructions through the ASUS app and adjusted the settings as per the PB Tech instructions. Hopefully it's not a faulty router - is that likely to be a common possibility?

Really hoping that's not the case!

Likelihood of fault is next to zero.

Is there any other information that would be helpful to know to help try resolve this? Would any IP info be useful? I noticed that last night it's default router address was 192.168.50.51 whereas the current grey Vodafone router is 192.168.1.xxx

Could that add to the issue?

I will try setting up directly next to the ONT box as well before moving back to the current location if that's worth a shot too.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If you can connect to the ASUS with your phone or laptop then the LAN side address scope is irrelevant.

Can you share a screenshot of the setting in Asus UI?

I can a bit later tonight. What parts of the UI specifically would you like? Presumably from phone app rather than the web interface?

The page which shows the WAN and VLan tagging settings.

Have you tried setting it up from the web interface?

No problem, I will grab those for you this evening - Likely to be a bit after 7 once the kids are in bed. I hope that's ok.

I did the set up through the app, rather than the web interface, but can try that approach if that is likely to have a better outcome/ provide more information for you to see.
