Hi Guys,
Im abit of a newbie when it comes to wiring Keystone RJ-45 jacks but thought it would look nice through the house instead of the wires poking out. So I brought all the keystone jacks and the punch down tool and thought I would try …….but I have a problem.
I brought X2 20m Cat5 cables off Trademe but before I used these I thought I would practice on one of those short blue cables you get with most routers etc you buy. So I cut one end off the cord and wired it into the Keystone jack using the “B” wiring pattern. I then plugged one end of the cable (The original end) into my router and the used another one of those blue cables and plugged one end into the Keystone jack and the other end into my laptop…….and it worked fine.
So now I did the same with the cables I brought off Trademe…….But they won’t work. I have tried wiring using both the “A” and “B” diagrams but nothing.
I tested the cables before I used them
Is there something I am doing wrong?
Can anyone help?
