I thought it'd be great to have a thread where we can share what we've been up to with HA 👍

Yesterday I got permanent root access to our LG OLED TV, and installed a fantastic script called Magic Mapper. It allows you to re-map keys or call various functions using the LG luna API service.

The functions I've setup include:

*Netflix key now opens Plex

*Amazon key now opens moonlight (homebrew software that allows you stream your PC games locally to your TV using Nvidia GameStream service)

*Can now turn our optically connected RF amplifier on/off with one button press where as previously it required three presses (thanks LG...)

*Best of all, any key on the remote can call a home assistant POST URL, and trigger your HA automations, essentially making the LG remote a smart remote! For now, I've set a key to toggle the lights in our movie room on/off and adjust the brightness in 20% steps using the channel up/down keys.

We hardly use any of the remote's remaining keys, and I plan on setting up other automations, such as displaying our HA dashboard with a keypress, or opening/closing the media room blinds.

My latest project in the works:, using a broadlink IR transmitter.

I have now learned all 332 possible combination over the weekend and need to now copy and paste them into a JSON format so that my climate card can work.

Then my dumb heatpump is now smart.

Secondly, working on summary cards for my home screen so I can see on one screen some key data, instead of having to open tabs for each room

I recently received my LD2410 mmWave sensors. I ordered the B and C variants. LD2410 BLE - Home Assistant (home-assistant.io)

Initial impressions are very good. I wasn't aware they also had a separate motion sensor detection.

Just need to get a 3D printed enclosure as they are very small.

This one by any chance? I am keen to get something into each room as well.

I got "LD2410B bare board" and "LD2410C-P" I didn't see the need for the Dev board as these have Bluetooth and just need 5V for power.

Just be wary the "B" variant is tiny and the pins are the smaller pitch.

Great idea for a thread.

My last project was a Tasmota IR blaster made from an esp8266 and IR LED. It turns the AV receiver on, sets the source, and sets the sub woofer level. These settings are lost when the mains to the receiver is turned off, thanks Panasonic ;) Alexa voice is used to trigger HA, which sends the commands to the IR blaster and turns down the lights. The "Emulated Hue" integration is used for Alexa.

For my next project I'm going to copy something Silvrav has (vehicle battery voltage monitoring). I've ordered a couple of Wemos style esp32 S2 .

Also going to try to get the current consumption right down on one of the esp32 S2. If successful, I'll put it in standard smoke alarm and integrate with HA.

I’ve done something similar with my ceiling fans. They are RF but it’s the same process.

Thanks! I’m embarrassed all my internet searching never took me to that device. I’ve put one on order and it should work nicely with the 433Mhz system that controls the Louvres. What I want to achieve is to have the blades adjust every hour for the angle of the sun to keep us in shade.

If it's 433Mhz it should be fine. My fans had unmarked frequencies and it worked fine detecting them. I tried a cheaper Tuna device first that didn't work.

The learning process is a pain though, hopefully you don't have too many buttons to learn.

I'm anticpating there could be some complications but worth a shot. There are two buttons for Opening and Closing the louvres which work on different channels for the two sets of blades. The third channel operates both sets at the same time.

I'm going to use the Xiaomi temperature sensor on my desk that's already integrated with HA as an external thermostat for my office heat pump, via AppDaemon. When I set the heat pump to heating / 21 degrees it reaches 24 - 25, I want a more accurate thermostat. I've started, but I probably won't get back to it until late March.

Unfortunately not that I have seen, you might have to custom build an IR blaster. Buddy of mine build one and integrated it into HA with ESPhome. I can ask him for info if you want to go down that route?
