I am very new to iphones and all technology. So if you answer please please can you use terms I can understand.

I purchase an iphone 3g 8gb from ebay - found out it was unlock and jailbroken. The seller left lots of info on the phone which I have been able to remove but one bit I'm stuck on. itunes. I set up an account for myself but when you sync the phone it comes up with the sellers name and the phone serial number. I dont know how to change the ownership of the phone in itunes to me. Also when you go onto the internet on the phone it shows her email address and wants her password, I can't delete that either. I have tried getting in touch with her but no suprises she just said all passwords are still live and to look it up on google!!!!! . So if anyone can help me delete her from itunes and my phone I would be really grateful. I know I can't update or restore or I'll loose my unlock (not too worried about the jailbreak) just want to delete her.

Pretty sure you can just change the name in iTunes.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3965 - click the name in the left hand column, then click it again within a second (slow double-click).
As for her email and everything, you just have to go into settings > Email accounts and remove her accounts.
You will probably also need to change the itunes account it is setup for http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311

Is it an iPhone 3G or 3G S? If it's a 3G, then they're "permanently unlocked" as Apple has stopped pushing updates for them. If it is a 3G, you can do a restore and use Greenpois0n to do the unlock again (http://greenpois0n.com/)

Thats weird, Maybe the phone has been registered as that and theres nothing you can really do about that, However you can do a restore and unlock by using a jailbreak tool called limera1n whats the current firmware version on the phone? I would reccomend restoring to 4.1 or another firmware and doing that, then its kinda like a new phone

Hi.

I've had a similar issue with our iPhone which belonged to another company employee.

Unsure if you have tried this already, but when you connect the phone to itunes, select the device in the left hand pane and then select Info from the menu directly beneath the apple logo at the top of the screen. Scroll down this page and hopefully you will see the email accounts and deselect the previous users email. This will then prevent it from re-appearing on the phone.

Took me a while to work this out as I am an apple newbie too.

Hope this helps.
H

I'm sure you tried this but go into settings, scroll down to store (app) settings and sign out. While in settings, go to mail settings and click on old mail acct, scroll down click remove.
