As of the 11/1/23 at around 1:50 am 2deg and slingshot customers in the timaru and surrounding areas have been experiencing periods of no connection or no connection at all.
Slingshot was reporting no issues even though we are Slingshot as well as my friend in a different area also are having issues worse than ours, over 6 hours at a time.
Today the 12th we had a 50 min outage from around 10am.
Both our Ips report as 2d addresses, so I guess that is why our Slingshot connections are been affected.
I also read Slingshot sent someone a new router yesterday to fix yhe issue so vocus needs to communicate outages between the different brands.

Yeah I am with 2dg fibre and we have been out nearly 36 hours. Have power cycled both ONT and Fritzbox numerous times, and done diagnostics with Fritzbox which tells me the fault is more than 200m up the connection.

2dg have redefined the term useless. No communication, other than just turn it off then on again. Called customer care yesterday after an hour wait and they got me to power cycle again then said it would be fixed at some stage.

Called again today and spent 90 minutes power cycling on the phone. And swapping ethernet cables. No joy.

Currently waiting on an escalation call.

@Cambo Suspect your fault may be different unless if you're in Timaru? Faults happen with every provider, it sounds like yours is isolated to you.

The Timaru fault that the OP mentioned has been resolved since 11am - https://www.2degrees.nz/network-status

Yes, I am in Timaru but plenty of other people still have no internet. The network status can't be relied on, they uploaded one 6 hours after the fault started yesterday, then marked it fixed, then took it down only to bring it back today. Customer care did say that the fault stuffed alot of people up, but they haven't specified what the fault was.

I also learned that Vocus is now 2Degrees.
And Slingshot, Orcon, Electric Kiwi, Mercury use their network.

Also the slingshot status page shows no issues last updated last year.

Hey OP, I resolved my connection by factory resetting my Frizbox modem. Hopefully your internet returns soon.
