Hi Guys,
Currently I have my landline and ADSL directly from Telecom. I would like to switch to Slingshot naked DSL. I am a bit afraid I may lose my adsl port during the switch because I was told; the new provider would get an information on exchange capacity problems once an application is underway. At this stage I would be disconnected already / end up on a waiting list. I already asked Slingshot if this could be the case with them which was confirmed.
I called Xnet afterwards. They told me there is no risk to switch to xnet naked dsl as they would just take my existing port / switch it over to xnet, so I cannot lose my port. 25$ churn fee applies.
I would really appreciate confirmation on how it actually works with slingshot. So far I always thought the procedure for broadband transition is always the same for any provider in New Zealand.
I am living in Red Beach / Telecom won't give me the information if there are still adsl ports available.
Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers
Enno
