Noticed the DishTV T1020 has a new firmware from 1st of May 2012. Anybody tried it? Any success with the PTA/PMA? Just wondering whether I should even consider upgrading...

The firmware updates for this model have been a bit of a mixed bag, but on the whole I would say go ahead with the update. Don't forget to report back here how it goes.

No, haven't had a chance to try. To be honest, I'm a bit nervous about upgrading, since I've upgraded on all the releases and there's always been a reason to go back to the first build. :(

I might give it a go this weekend though. I will report what I find.

I've updated mine, but haven't noticed any difference.

Are the videos readable by a PC now? I found in older versions of software that it could be played by a PC, but newer builds broke that.

Hello there, brand new here.

About this topic, I have bought a T1020 box yesterday and tried upgrading and it does not seem to take it; keeps on coming up with a "unable to read image" during usb upgrade and just reboots. When checking on the version screen of the box it still does show the following:

Hardware version 1.0
Software version A3UST_17_0115
Date July 21 2011

Seems odd to me. Can you help?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Regards
Sanco

Updated the other day and have finally spotted whats changed in the May update.

The user interface appears tidied up in the media centre/connectivity area. My USB stickregiestered multiple instances of the same drive, but you could open  and browse and play media off it. little bit flakey with some AVI files though..audio but no video (suspect needs more codec updates)
Still can't play media off a PC connected via LAN, even though it sees it...if only they would unlock that feature, seems such a waste to be able to connect and see but not play!
anyone noticed anything else?

Yes you would not have been able to update to the 12A firmware that was released on the 1st of may but if you download the latest update from the website it will load, the reason for that is the 12A firmware didn't have a compatible loader for firmwares before version 122
