I'm just posting in case anyone is interested in using a UK TV in NZ.
In the analogue days, a TV from overseas was a boat anchor. These days, if you're going to use a freeview STB, it may worth bringing a TV if you're immigrating and the TV is high-spec anough to be worth it.
This weekend I was setting up an LG TV [can't recall the model#] that had been brought in from the UK. Knowing the UK uses mpeg-2 for freeview I figured it would be fine with an STB, but OTA wouldn't work, but looking up the model online I saw it supported mp4, and the internal menus allowed it to be set up for various EU countries.
I plugged in an antenna & gave the auto-tune a whirl and found that it did indeed pick up all the freeview channels, and even the EPG worked reasonably well.
While I can't be sure how various different brands & models will work, it looks like the old advice of "don't bother" no longer applies.
