$2. Ouch. I'll get a second job and send the wife out cleaning to pay this exorbitant increase... /S

Probably be simpler to have Sky provide all content as a monopoly, probably be cheaper lol

All of these that bleated about Sky, well hello, its free reign now, enjoy :-)

I am enjoying it. Just not with Neon, can get better value else where.
End of day Sky will know if profits increase from price rise. $2 not much but big percent increase, price was already at my limit $13.95 for dipping in. If they had Dolby Digital like other streaming services then would pay.

Wow not sure why everyone is so salty about Neon.

It's actually a pretty decent service especially with the HBO content. They developed an app for the new Chromecast with Google TV and it doesn't suck.

We subscribe to Neon, Netflix, Prime and Disney+

I probably get more value out of Neon than Prime or Disney.

Lightbox was almost sold to TVNZ, imagine how good that product would have been..

Didn't know that. I watch far, far more on TVNZ On Demand than any other streaming platform.

The current multiple choice situation is a huge improvement over the Sky monopoly.

If you don't mind adverts in the programs. That is the big difference with using online streaming, there are no ads on the pay services, but heaps of ads on the free ones. .

Im watching a series on TVNZ OD, there are ads, but usually just one and not that often. Unlike linear which seems to be 5 minutes worth, very often

Agree. What gets me is that everyone complains about Sky and its pricing. yet when a $13 service that is streaming so yeah its superior to old Sky, there is an uproar. Sky was "apparently" a monopoly, now it isn't, now the complaints continue about the other survives. Competition worked, there is now a myriad of services

Yep, so no real need to complain over $2

It's not about the money, but the choice. That used to be very limited, partly due to a lack of other options, partly to Sky smothering things with exclusivity agreements. The great thing about the modern situation is that the choice is almost unlimited, especially if you give geoblocking the contempt it so richly deserves. The world is your oyster if you are prepared to pay for it. That is a good thing. Sky used to be anti-competitive. Now there is plenty of competition and consumers benefit. If they have to maintain multiple subscriptions to get all the content they want, so be it. Everything has a price.

That price used to be much less when everything was in one place - Disney+, Spark Sport and a Sky Sub are more expensive than a Sky Sub in isolation.

Having said that the app + Chromecast experience is a huge deal better.

I agree, its not about the money to me. Competiton is competition, if you need to spend more, then spend more, you have a choice. But the issue is about money, when $2 is such a burden, its the same every time. These thread are full  of complaints about the $2. One person here, Mr L used to go on about $20 for everything that's exists, yes, it really is about the money to most people.

Only if you feel compelled to subscribe to every service. Some of us have no interest in watching sport, or cooking or whatever.  So we only need to buy the bits we want.  I pay $20 for Netflix, which is a vastly better experience than Sky ever was, plus a small amount per year for killing geoblocking so I also get BBC, ITV and Channel 4.  Even sport on BBC/ITV if I or the kids want it.  So $25 per month for all the TV the family and I need

People like that also choose their RSP based on the lowest price known to mankind, then 5 minutes later start jumping up and down because things aren't working properly and they can't get any phone support at all.

Sometimes I find this kind of thing amusing.

Yes, if into Sport it’s more expensive. My comments on Neon price increase are not complaining about it, but to me they’ve priced themselves out of the market. Prime Video is half the price. $8 vs $15.99
When had Sky before competition was $50 a month, plus anything else added to it, they only split off start up when competition came.
I now have Prime Video and Disney for around $16 a month ($99 Disney for this year) Sky account is on hold for three months so paying nothing there, will see what they come back with after three months.
I’ll add Netflix back at some stage, making it $39 a month, still cheaper then Sky. UHD on some content, no adds during shows, so a better experience with others. Neon has no adds as well.
