The update worked fine when I got the timing right. Took about 15 minutes and now all good.

I'd prefer to roll it back. I only looked at a Fargo episode and not HD. Disappointed.

JonoNZ:
Jase2985: any hints to get the timing right?

I found it wasn't really the second reboot that you had to wait for.

For me the following worked

1. Turn My Sky HDi on -- blue power light should be present
2. Press 'select' and 'back' until it turns off
3. Wait for it to start, power light is a purple colour
4. Perform the "Power", "up" arrow, "down" arrow, and then "Power" sequence straight away

It worked a charm for me.

Good luck.

Does this work for sky plus too?

Yes (or at least I think so - currently downloading the update). As mentioned a couple of posts above, do power - up - down - power the second time the ring lights up.

Hmm, am tempted to try to force the update! Could be another month before my number comes up.

Got the upgrade installed fine with this trick. Saved recordings and scheduled programmes all preserved. Bet Sky will be thrilled this is out of the bag...

Took a couple of tries but worked after a few minutes. Updated and working, recordings and scheduled programmes all present.
Update process was a bit unsettling, blue screen with text saying update in progress. Then unit went on and off and seemed to remain off for perhaps 5 minutes. Then rebooted to new GUI. Looks good, so much better. Maybe a little laggy, but seems to work correctly.

Cheers,
Joseph

I like that if you're channel grazing, you can just hit "blue" repeatedly and it will scroll through the list of what's currently on your favourite channels.

Done the upgrade trick. All working.

Download the on demand help thing, and looks like can record three programs at once now, where before think it was only two, but could watch a third channel. Haven't tested.

Like how programs of one series in a folder now.

Just disappointed that except maybe sky box office pay per view it's SD downloads.

Since it's been connected to internet, hope sky knows it's been upgraded, otherwise wonder what happens if they try to upgrade when it's already done.

UPdated last night, as per some posts, its not really the second power on that you then perform the key sequence.
Once the power light is blue and the circle of LEDs are on, then perform it.

The update progress stops for a while and then ramps through. Took 5-7 mins maybe to download and then the red signal light goes on a off a few times.

Just leave the box for a while, 20 mins and should be all good.

New interface which will take a little getting used to and there is a delay with the controller if your used to scrolling through the EPG quickly.

Nice one on the instructions though!

The little things make the biggest difference.
