Hi friendly Geekzoners,

My current setup is this:

-MySKy HDi going directly to my main TV via HDMI
-Incoming HD aerial split to 4 bedrooms plus kitchen in behind the TV with these TVs all getting freeview only

What I am wanting to achieve is the MySky putting out a duplicate signal (ie what Im watching on the main decoder) that is able to be sent to all other TVs via the aerial system.

Is this possible?

Also, am I able to achieve this with the freeview signal not being compromised and if so how?

Seems like this is what I want:

But unsure if:

1. our MySky HDi will support this and
2. How Id select the sky/freeview at the bedroom/kitchen TVs

Your diagram shows an obsolete analog solution so should be avoided, using digital signals is the same in principle. Ideally you want to split the HDMI and then feed one output into a DVB-T modulator, e.g., http://www.resi-linx.com/index.php?id_product=27&controller=product, DVB-T channel could then be tuned by each TVs HD tuner.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Yes but expect to pay $1000+ for the digital modulator, that's what MatchMaster ones cost us anyway.

You can do it like your diagram, and it will work. The picture will be about the worst quality it would be possible to get. You would have to tune it using the TVs analog tuner, and switch from digital to analog when you wanted to watch the Sky channel.

The DVB-T modulator is a great way to do it, but probably very expensive (that link has no pricing). It would give you the best possible picture (and if you used HDMI into it, it would be in 1080i when available), and it would mean that you would not need to switch form analog to digital (it would just be another digital channel, which you could name).

Did 2 analong backfeeds (one from each decoder) to all tvs just as you have asked about. Works great and on most bedroom tvs the standard picture looks fine. Also did 2 long hdmi feeds (using hdmi splitters) one from each box to the tv most likely to use (2nd lounge and study in my case). So all tv have a standard feed and 2 tvs have a digital feed (as well the two the boxes are attached to). Looked at the modulator and this was way cheaper and 3 months in I find works awesome.

Can you run new cable?

If so, run HDMI cable to each of the TVs, and connect them to an HDMI splitter with four outputs. It will be much cheaper than what you want to do, and give a significantly higher quality result as well.

Even better, make it a matrix splitter and you will have the option of sending the output from other sources (Blu-Ray player, media player, or whatever) to multiple TVs as well.

No dont want to run new cable.

The aerial splitter box is right behind the TV and ideally id use that.

Will be selling up and moving on in the short term so its not economical to cut up walls and run new cables.

Had done with new house by electrical company. Bog standard powered hdmi splitters and hdmi cable as far as I can tell. I can look for brands if you need as think they had one left over. For the backfeeds again just what they supplied. I looked at the digital modulator/automated home options but did not want to be tired to a brand (and many are just fancy ipad apps with basic stuff behind). I am the picture fanatic at home so worked out which tvs I wanted as best picture beyond the ones the sky decoders are attached to and they got the split hdmi feed. Picture on a 65 inch is still perfect.
