Absolutely the Sanyo. Trust me on this.

I think that the problems with the TX115 have been overstated a bit on this forum, but I think that the Sanyo 8100 comes across as being a much better quality product. In fact, very few people seem to have had any problems with any of the Sanyo handsets.

My wife has a Sanyo 8100 and it has been great - stands up to a bit of rough treatment on the farm and is very capable phone. Haven't had so much of a play with the 115 but my brother-in-law was staying for a couple of days recently (he has had one for a short while) and the single problem that would disqualify it for me (and annoys him as he is an outdoor worker) is the low ringtone volumes. I heard for myself how poor they are - even trying the shrillest sounding one - hard to hear with any background noise (especially if stuck in a pocket).

I think that's a fair comment, Edge. I can never hear it ring when I'm outside and it's in my pocket, even if there's no background noise.

I can vouch for the Sanyo's sturdiness. Had a construction worker bring his handset in for an insurance claim - it had been run over by a grader. The unit was a good 3 - 4 mils narrower than my one. Both LCDs were obviously shattered, but the phone still worked perfectly for making and receiving calls.

Can't say enough about how much enjoy using my own Sanyo. The only flaw in it is that you cannot have it default to T9 texting. Ah well - 3 extra button pushes per text is a good price to pay for a great battery, excellent reception and handset that has been dropped on concrete a number of times and still gives perfect service.

How is the camera on the 8100? Isn't it only 0.1 Megapixels when phones such as the tx115c and the 3205 (or whatever) are both 0.3?

sanyo 7400 is hot stuff if you are willing to splash out a little more.

the 7400 doesnt suffer the T9 problem - it will stay where you leave it.

The 8100 is only 0.1MP

I have had all three, and prefer the 8100 over the 115. (Still like the 7400 best though!!)
