Anyone seen this? Its a light meter for your phone, plugs in to the headphone socket. Pretty interesting.

Hmmm...
I see people using light meters with digital slrs, and I'm bemused, as at least with my Nikon gear, the camera has spot metering, the size of the spot can be pre-set, the location of the spot "follows" the selected AF point - or if you want there's a dedicated AE lock button, spot metering can be set as default action for one of the programmable buttons - so you never have to take your eye from the viewfinder,  it's deadly accurate,  and in any case shooting raw there's so much exposure latitude that a stop of error isn't the end of the world, taking a test shot is trivial, and the last thing I'd want is another gadget to interfere with my photography.
That device doesn't work for flash - which is about the only use it could have - except even that's pretty much consigned to using old studio flash setups or old non iTTL flashes.
"The lighting conditions were fairly difficult: the sun kept ducking behind the clouds and then reappearing, requiring me to adjust exposure settings on my camera for nearly every shot".
This bemuses me too - what a waste of space trying to do this (manual exposure - with external light meter or in-built TTL) when the camera will have Aperture and Shutter speed priority AE modes, and a far better exposure metering system built in.
