Hi all,

Long shot probably but..... I'm looking for a second hand (cos they are old now and I can't find one brand new in NZ) Sony A77 mark 2 camera body or body with wide angle lens. I've got a bunch of Sony/Minolta A mount lenses I want to keep using and after looking at all possible options (and prices) the A77ii would suit me best. I've scoured Trade Me for ages and the ones that do come up on there are over priced big time. I've also googled searched for other second hand camera shops in NZ but none have the A77ii. Price Spy says some are available new, but that is wrong as I've contacted the stores concerned and they don't actually have any. If anyone has one or knows of a shop that might have one I'd be most grateful.

Thanks :-)

Have you considered going E-mount and an adapter.

Other than in-camera stabilisation, the A6000 has pretty much the same specs as A77II.

You should be able to pick one of those up new and the LAEA4  A - E adapter for the same total price as pricespy has the A77II listed.

Otherwise try your luck on the NZ Photography Classifieds group on Facebook.  They're a pretty good bunch.  I've picked up a couple of lenses through there with no hassles.

Thanks for your reply. Yes! I've looked at all possible options with the A6000 and even the new A7 and an adapter. It seems Sony has discountinued the adapter now too. And where I have seen them still brand new they are $500 odd which to me is ridiculous. Having the anti shake feature is something I want as I'm so used to it now I won't go without it. And to get the in camera stabilization I'd have to go to the Sony A7ii which is too expensive for me even second hand when factoring in I'd still need the adapter. And, I don't think I would like the smallness of the A6000 or the A7. I've got big hands and like the solidness of the DSLR body. I've just joined that Facebook group and this morning posted a wanted on there. :-)

@Tomahawk66 , another thought.  Sign up at www.dyxum.com and place a wanted in the buy/sell forum.  It doesn't seem that active these days and if it comes in from overseas you might need to consider the GST and other import fees of course.  it's a Sony photography fanboy site, they're a good bunch of folk and items seem to trade for fair prices.

Edit: Just had a quick browse: https://www.dyxum.com/dforum/fs-sony-a77ii-minolta-600-f4_topic134016.html  (Price is in US$$ of course.)

I see what you mean about TradeMe.  I can only find the one on sale there at the moment at an outrageous price.  (The guy selling it is a trader who is very good at picking up bargains, and will then re-list them for sale with massive mark-ups.  Seems to sell a fair bit though, so must be doing something right.)

Thanks Floydbloke :-)  I'm not confident or comfortable with attempting to buy a second hand camera from overseas unfortunately. I've joined the FB group but nothing on there either.  Yes I know that one on trade me, it's been there for months and months. It is so over priced it's ridiculous.
