Just as the title says... I find it 'just another social media account'... Personally, Linkedin / Yammer are kinda similar...

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

When looking at audience, Yammer is to an Intranet what Twitter is for your public website. It allows your employees to talk in a more dynamic way than email/meetings making things faster.

Different from Twitter, Yammer allows you to create groups and also invite external people to join the network.

It's very different from LinkedIn.

We use Yammer at our work and it's great for posting links to interesting websites/YouTube videos.

We have tried to make use of it, but I think everyone just uses Lync for the convenience of it. I think we are wanting to try and make more use of it this year though as some things are being pushed through email that really don't need to be.

Try Vultr using this link and get us both some credit:

Yes we have it at work. It's not a required tool for doing my job, but can be a good way to connect with other parts of the buisness. Many posts start with, "Does anyone know who/what/where/when....?" and a person with the answer usually comes forward.

We have Lync deployed throughout the organization for everyone to use and Yammer deployed just within our IT department. Yammer is not used for work purposes at all. Just social chatter amongst others.

Do whatever you want to do man.

I tried it, and deleted the account again. It's utter rubbish.

We use it, and I would say that it's a good way to share interesting articles/ideas etc. But it's also only as good as the buy-in from your employees. If no-one uses it, it's of pretty limited value.

Also a real shame that their desktop/app clients are pretty poor.
