Has anyone used the Vivien Street Kitchen Studio branch for a brand new kitchen? Any problems?? In particular - Fiona Dalziel.
Thanks.

I will message you directly.
I welcome anyone to message me if they are considering dealing with Kitchen Studio.

Sorry what do you mean? I am just interested in people's experiences with this branch. I have heard both good and bad from people I know and wanted another opinion!
Once paid we did not receive good service. quality of a granite we paid nearly $5000 for is not as good as sample shown. some cabinetry had to be cut before fitted. cabinetry door were fitted incorrectly. most disappointed that they give 10yrs warranties but will not attend to our requests to fix or adjust cabinetry and it's fixings less than year later. sadly lets just say approx $25000 worth of investment I expected better delivery and after sale services.
Thanks to all who replied.
We expressed concern at how binding the contract was and the sales lady tried to assure us that it was "standard industry practice" to receive 100% payment up front. Um actually no, I had already done my homework by then and rung 3x other Wellington kitchen places only to hear that it is standard for a deposit, progress payment and then final amount AFTER installation. So yeah, her persistence was admirable but at the same time I think she was trying to just "secure a sale".
I think we dodged a huge bullet here, so back to square one for us and finding another supplier.
(note: not affiliated with this company)
I had good experience with Ace Laminates in Upper Hutt. The lady came out and designed the kitchen with us, and all the cabinetry was produced at their factory, then installed. Decent size kitchen with laminate benchtop was about $11K installed.

I am getting quotes for another big ticket household item (Not a kitchen), which has to be constructed offsite, and I have found that some companies do seem to want full payment before you end up receiving the goods. So it doesn't seem to be uncommon.
Although in my case, they do want a deposit first, and then the rest prior to installing. I would think that it would be more reasonable to pay the balance once installed, and you are happy with the job. This way you have leverage incase of any problems with the install that need fixing.
However if you are not happy with a contract, you can either get them to amend the terms, or use another company (if there is another company).
