Has anyone dealt with a (Wellington based) Bathroom renovator recently that they'd care to recommend?
thanks in advance

I used Bathroom Solutions, but it was around 4 years ago. I'd probably use them again, though my probably wife wouldn't.

Wrong grout was used, it started to crumble. They replaced it with the type they should've used to start with. They did the floor a couple of years ago, now the walls need doing. It takes a few days to do - remove the old grout, let it dry, grout, then let that dry. It's a real pain in the butt to have to wait for. One of the tiles makes a loud CLICK when you stand on it.
All in all fairly minor issues.
Complete stripping, redoing with all new, under floor heated tiles, a new high pressure hot water system and moving the cylinder to the ceiling, a ceiling hatch with ladder, and putting in a new window (not including the window) cost somewhere between $30K and $40K, from memory.
Thanks for the comprehensive reply ... TBH, I'm not sure I'd include them as an option based on your feedback, but much appreciated
I would say I'm a difficult customer. I expect people and companies to do what they say they will, when they say they will, for the price they quote. I have high standards, but I'm willing to pay for quality. To be honest they did do what they said they'd do, they took longer than we'd like but they didn't give a fixed timeframe, and the price was agreed up front. Any building project is going to run into hiccups.
When you inquire with them they give you a folder of reviews. They tell you that every customer is given a feedback form, and they don't remove reviews that aren't great. They never gave me a form.
Sometimes "better the devil you know". They were pretty responsive during the build, their staff are really good people, and I'm sure they've improved a few things since then. They're one of the larger firms in Wellington, and I expect most of their customers are quite happy with them.
to be fair, screwing up something as basic as not getting consent for a wetfloor conversion would rule them out for me. Thats pretty basic stuff
