Just wondering if anyone around Wellington might happen to have a 32mm Masonry drill bit or something very close in size? Ideally of a standard type. I don't have an SDS drill and I don't really want to purchase one and an SDS drill bit for a one-off job. Just need to get through about 150mm of concrete.

If you can borrow one. You could try stitch drill is with a smaller bit of you have it.
You can get a 6mm bit from Bunnings for ~$6

If you can’t borrow one, I’m sure you could hire the SDS drill and maybe even the bit for it.

Thanks, I've considered stitch drilling but was hoping to get a pretty clean finish on the outside, I have a diamond core drill bit, but it's only 35mm deep. Could be a way to get the outside with a clean.

Was hoping to avoid hiring as the price looks to be about $50-60 for the unit and maybe ~$30 to hire the bit (not all of them seem to offer the bits for hire). At that point I can likely buy a bit that will work in one of my drills, just makes the project more expensive than I would like.

There is basically no way that a non-rotary-hammer drill (including the battery drills with 'hammer' function) will ever make a 32dia 150deep hole. Even most cheap hammer drills top out around 20mm.

I've got a reasonably decent mains-powered hammer drill that I've used to make nice clean holes through engineered stone which is much harder than concrete, I've also stitched a series of 8mm holes for 2x100mm holes in the past in another part of the same 150mm wall, it's really about taking time. In this case, I'm just trying to see if anyone might have the bits in particular or even an SDS with bit's that they might be happy to lend for a single hole as it will give the cleanest result.
