DravidDavid:TimA:old3eyes: They put them down parts of Pt Chev road here in Auckland. The cycling bunnies still ride on the sidewalk..
If I was to ride a push bike it wouldn't be on the road.

I have no idea why the government are trying to make it safter for cyclists on the road, when they could just travel on the foot-path. I had no trouble at all doing it as a kid on my way to school every day!
If I traveled on the road, I may not be typing this message right now.

freitasm: I'm all for cyclists getting safer lanes, etc. But not on footpath. You don't want a bicycle coming behind you on Lambton Quay, Willis St or any other busy Wellington street with high number of pedestrians.
Also what is really annoying is that some cyclists completely disregard red lights - lost count of the number of times I was about to cross a road in the Wellington CBD when the pedestrian crossing light was green and a cyclist came down just through the red light and I had to stop before crossing the path of said idiot psychopath human being.
Every time a cyclist goes through a red light when pedestrians are crossing I feel like they shouldn't be on the road at all.
Yes, it's generalisation, but as they say, a few spoil it for everyone.

freitasm: I personally think a cyclist should be allowed to go through a red light in such case. But it also would mean STOP and make sure pedestrians don't have the right of way then GOING. Not just going through like a bullet.
