I've been intending to upgrade the little handheld UHF CB and bonnet mounted stubby antenna on my Pajero for ages, but my brother is visiting from the UK next month, and we'll be be touring with two cars, which was a good excuse to get it done. The radio is a GME TX3100, and about the size of one and a half packets of cigarettes. Being so small, I decided to try and fit it in the little cubby above the radio. It took a bit of reworking, and it was a tight squeeze, but it made for a very tidy installation. BTW The display on the dash is a reverse sensor from SuperCheap
While I was about it I put a proper antenna on the roof, which turned out to be a lot easier than expected. Just remove all the grab handles, sun shades, and A and B pillar trim, and the roof lining dropped enough to get the antenna base in. It is sucking in heaps more traffic now, but I have not worked out what sort of distance it covers.
