We are about to switch banks and comparing BNZ and Westpac mobile app, with their offset accounts facility I wonder will the function will be similar to what Westpac one app gets to offer with the flexibility of changing repayment amount?

I am with BNZ and have offset loans.
Yes, you can change the repayment amount up or down at any point through the app.  You can also make lump sum payments and refix loans when they come up.

I use Westpac and am not a fan of their iOS app. It doesn't appear to have received any meaningful updates in years.

My partner uses BNZ and it seems significantly ahead, both in terms of security and features. The swipe to pay and payment approval features seem really decent.

It frustrates me to no end that I can't enforce MFA for every Westpac login (not even antiquated SMS MFA).

I will note, however that I had no troubles using my Westpac card in Greece a few weeks back, despite not providing them with any notification I was travelling...

I would find MFA for every login fustrating and would generally be wary of dealing with any bank that does this. Sometimes all I want to do is check how much is in my CHQ account and ANZ/Kiwibank allows this without MFA. I like Kiwibank's balanced approach - they strictly enforce MFA only for new payees and certain other high stakes actions. This means a simple check of your balances can be done without me having to pull out my phone or some other gadget. Security is a complex issue and simply doing MFA on every little action is really crossing into the realm of security theatre. Rabobank is one with quite excessive MFA usage to the point they require MFA for transfers between my own accounts! Thankfully I don't have my everyday account with them.
