geekiegeek: The Sony TV's have excellent up-scaling of 1080p which is a must have with a 4K TV as most of your viewing will be 1080. I recently brought a X85C 65" and the picture is fantastic.

I'm looking around at TV's at the moment as my much beloved Pioneer Plasma is getting near the end of it's life and I was foolish enough not to grab a Panny VT last year before they were dumped.
To me there are two main requirements - picture quality and audio (I don't want to turn my amp on just to watch TV). Despite the fact every Sony TV I've ever looked at in the past has been absolute rubbish I've actually been impressed by the quality of the current Sony's instore. What's your opinion of the audio? It seems these TV's have reasonable speakers and don't seem to require the mandatory soundbar that many others do. Does it actually support Freeview Plus? It's something I hadn't noticed support for.
I'm also interested in Android TV. To me the smart capabilities aren't a big deal but having Android TV does offer some benefits.
Anybody else have any views on what I should be looking for? To me the picture quality on the LG's (excl OLED) and Samsung's I've seen is still pretty rubbish, but once again we all know how difficult it is to judge picture quality in a store.

And I still haven't seen anything except OLED that looks better than a Plasma.
