I like the looks of this. Specially good for people building new systems with PCIe. Dual DVB-T / Hardware analong.

It appears that hauppauge now have a series of PCIe cards for DVB-T. Whilst not available in NZ yet they are starting to appear in AU. I particular I like the look of the HVR-2200 which is a dual tuner hybrid with MPEG2 hardware

Bugger.. I just ordered a Nova T 500 today - I would have got one of them to have a play with had I known there was even stock in NZ!

That looks very cool, my HVR-1100 takes ages to change channel and I need the PCI slot for a wireless card. I will be keeping an eye out for one of these puppies! Awesome looking little bit of kit - HTPC builders are starting to get well catered to.

Can anyone confirm that the Nova T 500 works with DVBViewer? I assume it will also work with Vista Media Center when M$ support NZ's Freeview standard

I've just received my Nova T 500 HD model (the only one in stock) and can confirm this is the retail package that comes with a Hauppauge remote control. My understanding is the MCE model is the basic white box with the card only and no remote control.

If you don't already have a remote control then you'll be better off buying the retail package - I assume that when you plug the Haupauge IR receiver into the TV card that it functions the same as a Microsoft MCE remote? I already have a MCE remote so it doesn't worry me.

I just heard back from Ingram Micro and was told by phone that the only difference is the packaging - HD is a retail box and the MCE is white. All the bits inside are the same.

You may be right, but I ordered the Nova T 500 MCE and it was without the Hauppauge remote and IR receiver (and the card had no input socket for the receiver). An acquaintance of mine ordered the Nova T 500 HD and got the remote. This was through www.ascent.co.nz, and both were the same price. Go figure.
