I remember when the Audioquest distributor held seminars in Chch pushing high end Cat cable for audiophiles...
Imagine, just imagine...
Do you think it could be overclocked to sound even better? Also is it a store and forward or cut through switch? I'd hate for my sound waves to be waiting for a large buffer to fill.

I heard that underclocking it significantly improves sound quality, and it increases the signal to noise ratio. You don't need to pass those packets faster... you need to pass those packets smoother and more steadily! π π§ π

Of course, you’re wasting your time with a good switch if your storage devices are shaping the packets poorly: http://www.enjoythemusic.com/hificritic/vol5_no3/listening_to_storage.htm
I'm disappointed that no-one is talking about the terrible effects that the move to aluminium power lines is having on audio quality around the nation. It's obvious to the distinguished listener that the larger diameter and lighter cable results in more movement in the wind, resulting in low-frequency whirr being introduced into the sound. The reduced conductivity also leads to gnashing in the higher registers, providing a distinctly unpleasant grey tone to the music.
And don't get me started on the krkk caused by the use of circuit breakers instead of good old-fashioned fuses.

That's insane. I often wonder if this type of magical thinking would give someone pause for thought who has gone down some other unrelated rabbit hole if it was in a field they had enough expertise in to recognise the detachment from reality (there was a Jim Jefferies interview with a variety of conspiracy theorists that seemed to have that effect on some of the participants when they began arguing amongst themselves).
I‘d like to see the matching, low distortion „audiophile“ Cat10i RJ-45 cables … (I don‘t disclosure here what the ‚i‘ stands for ;-).
- NET: FTTH, OPNsense, 10G backbone, GWN APs, ipPBX
- SRV: 12 RU HA server cluster, 0.1 PB storage on premise
- IoT: thread, zigbee, tasmota, BidCoS, LoRa, WX suite, IR
- 3D: two 3D printers, 3D scanner, CNC router, laser cutter

You fool. Run your gear off batteries, but not any ordinary batteries …

This guy is rather excited by it all π

I bet you think it doesn't matter what energy is used to charge the batteries...

Imagine being able to hear the difference in USB cables as well as ethernet cables

Is that a blue LED on the ground circuit connector?
