I've moved into my new house and have had a dish put up, one of the newer LNBs with 4 outlets. I've plugged my Sky decoder in and get signal straight away with 10750mhz but zero luck on my dvblink setup. I've been running this current setup for over a year at my old place, before dvblink I was using Argus TV for about 4 years with no issues.

My old place was an apartment with 11300mhz so have changed the scanning settings to 10750000 lo hi, and switch to 0,12750000 and some other setting but no luck. No channels in either dvblink or epg collector. On one scan I go a lnb test channel and some epg stream thing but that's it.

Any ideas? I don't have internet yet so can't post logs or anything unfortunately.

I am not familiar with DVBLink, but the Sky dishes do not have dual oscillators, so you need to do whatever the software requires to set up the LNB for a single local oscillator on 10750 MHz, no switching. This is an uncommon setting in lots of DVB-S software, as most overseas dishes do not work like that. A setting for "Universal" LNB is actually for dual oscillators, for example. A complication of using Sky dishes is that the LNBs work like the lower oscillator only of a dual oscillator setup. The lower oscillator switches off on detection of a 20 kHz tone and the upper oscillator switches on when it sees a 20 kHz tone. So if your software switches on the 20 kHz tone, it will cause the Sky oscillator to switch off, leaving you with no signal.

What weirds me out most is EPG collector not picking anything up using the default settings for Sky NZ. Again, everything is working fine with my Sky decoder so I'm starting to think something weird with my tuner card in the move... Here's a pic of the lnb anyway, might be helpful.

That looks like the current standard Sky dual LNB - probably the same as what I have, but I have never been up a ladder to have a look. There are two completely separate LNBs inside the unit, with an aerial cable coming down from each LNB. That allows two separate Sky boxes to be used without interfering with each other. So you should have two aerial cables, not four. It is possible that there is a splitter in each of your cables somewhere to allow four devices to be connected, but it might also be that one pair of aerial cables you have is something else. When more than one device is connected to the same LNB, it is important that the splitter used only allows one of those two split connections to send voltage to the LNB, otherwise you can get two devices both providing voltage and those devices will then be sending voltage into each other - not good. So if your cables do have splitters in them, then only one of each pair should be passing voltage up to the LNB, and if you accidentally connect to the cable that is not able to pass voltage and the other one of the pair is not connected to anything, then no voltage will be getting to the LNB to power it or tell it what polarization to use.

Have you tried connecting a cable to the Sky box and checking that it is all working, then using exactly the same cable connected to your tuner?

The Lnb has 4 outs but only 2 cables run. I've got Sky going through my decoder, set it to 10750 and it instantly tuned so the signal is definitely all good. I've swapped cables and wall jacks as well and the decoder has no issues no matter the combo.

I just installed DVBLink on my test Ubuntu 16.04 box, and tried it with my TeVii S470 and TBS5922 DVB-S2 tuners. It worked fine once I worked out how to set up the LNB settings. What it needed was:

Diseqc: None

LNB type: Ku-Linear (Universal)

LOF 1: 10750000

LOF 2: 10750000

LOF SW: 999999999

Then a scan using these settings found the Freeview channels:

Frequency: 12456

Symbol rate: 22500

Type: DVB-S

Polarity: H

FEC: 3/4

Modulation: QPSK
