So, i have an 8600gt video card that has s-video out on my PC. I have a blaupunkt TV that has SCART inputs/outputs. How can i get my PC to output ot the TV? I bought a scart adapter that has RCA/S-video connections and i get picture playing on the TV but its in black and white. Ive tried changing the signal between PAL/NTSC from the PC using nvideas tv thing but it still doesnt work?

The TV works fine with sky/DVD player/Video player going through one of the SCART inputs so is it just a signal issue fomr my PC?

How have you set it up on your PC exactly? I am using a 7600gt with no issues here.
Which pal setting are you using?

SCart adapter in the back of TV with s-video cable going from video card - TV.
In nvidia control panel i have it set to "clone"

Ive tried "germany pal g/b" "New zealand all options" And it seems ot be black and white on everything.

Ive just noticed there is SOME colour, but its pretty washed out. I may have a resolution issue then as its scrolling the TV.

How shoudl i have it setup?

Edit: ok now its gone back ot black and white but it looks clearer now. No flickering or weird lines on the screen. Screen still scrolls around but im guessing thats due to the res being wrong.

Some of the scart TVs do not support svideo over scart, so you will need to use a composite scart connector. The PC should autodetect what the output is.

My video card doesnt have composite output? just s-video. Or have you got a link to what you mean?

Ive also changed it to "dual view" so its stopped the picture being too big for the screen. So i can just drag a movie or whateve ri want onto the TV part and resize it to fit. But i still havnt solved the colour problem.

The video card tv outputs usually support svideo, component and composite over a 7 pin mini-din connector, which automatically detects what type of connection you are using. Sometimes the blue connector on the component cable doubles as a composite output.

You can check out an example here

The video card should have come with the apropriate set of cables, but if you do not have them you could try a local computer shop and they may have some spares lying around.

hrm i dont have that cable, it just came with the 7 pin s-video to s-video cable, not with the rca's too. Ill try and get ahold of one of those ones then.

I may be wrong, but I think on my old Grundig Xentia, even if you had the input coming via scart, you still needed to configure the TV input for the type of source (i.e. S-video, composite etc). If it was set to composite it always gave a black and white signal, but changing to s-video in the input settings on the TV made all things right with the world. Also, while it had three scart inputs, it only accepted s-video on two of them - the other was component input only.
