Hi everyone,
Sorry if this has been asked before, I had a look and I could not find anything.

I got a Nova T 500 MCE card Model 1158 last week.

Put it in my New machine

Gigabyte EG43M -S2H LGA775, Intel®G43+ICH10 ChipsetCore 2 Extreme Quad-Core / Core 2 Duo, FSB 1333/1066, Dual Channel DDR
II , Integrated VGA, 1*PCI-E x4, 2*PCI, 4 SATAII

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E7400 2.80Ghz 3M 1066Mhz LGA775

Hynix 2GB DDR2 800Mhz PC2-6400 CL5 240pin

Seagate Barracuda 7200 . 11 500GB 7200RPM SATA II 32MB NCQ 3Gb/s HDD (ST3500320AS)

Running Win XP pro with SP3

In preperation of the Nova coming I installed Media portal and had a play, I did not like it.

Installed the driver that came on the CD for the Nova and installed the software Cyberlink PowerCinema HD edition with AAC+

Card worked a treat, the software that come with it looked like media portal and was a lot easier to use so I uninstalled media portal.

My Nova no longer works.

I had a key for windows 7, installed that ( dual boot ), started media centre, scans and plays perfectly ( so I thought )

On saturday with the bad weather i go the no signal message which was no supprise as I was on a dinky little antenn from another DVB-T usb tuner ( that I not longer have ), I get the rabbit ears and no change, I connect the main house antenna to the card and still no signal.

Several reboots later and updating drivers no change.

Tried again on saturday fternoon and it worked so I thought it must be a signal issue.

I googled Nova T 500 signal strength meter and got a result there is one on Hauppague WINTV software.

I downloaded WinTV7 from the Hauppauge website and installed that.

The software does not even recgonise the card ( I checked in device manager and it is there )

I thought it was only XP that was hating me until tonight windows 7 media centre says there is no signal.

Another google and I come up with scanchanelBDA

I have run that, on the tabbit ears I get 61 strength and 100% quality, this I feel is suitable for a digital signal ( anything over 50% should be OK, 100% quality is definatly OK )

I put the outside antenna on and the level increases from 61% to 80%, a good signal.

I am stumpped, I am about to develop a case of real bad language and my blood pressure is rising.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

John
