i'm looking at buying a plasma or lcd tv but those guys in HN are shoving a surge protector as well and they are too expensive. what kind of brand do you recommend? and where's the best place/store to buy them..

Nety: I would recommend the PureAV range but as stated above you should be able to get it for a lot less the list. Think I got mine for around 50% of list price but the guy I deal with does look after me.
Don't suggest going for a cheap one they simply do not offer the same level of protection. After spending at least 1k on the TV silly to be cheap on protecting it from being fried.

billgates: I have been using a $10 6 port power board with surge protection built in for 4 years without any problems. Bought them from DSE.
