Has anyone here got a Samsung SH-B083A Blu-ray combo drive or seen a decent review for it? It looks flash, one of the few drives that don’t look like so much a computer component and should look good on my Antec HTPC case.
What I want to know first is whether it is quiet and can have its read speed limited. I’ve used both an ASUS and LG DVD-R drives previously and found I software like AnyDVD or NeroSpeed just doesn’t work with them. So end up with 48X whirling sound drowning out the playback of an audio CD for instance. I think the Samsung drives do have a MagicSpeed software, but think it only limits CD playback. So would be nice to know if it is quiet or can be speed limited for DVD-R data and blu-ray playback using other software.
