Hi All,

We are Adappted.  Don't worry, there is no manifesto following that statement.   Just 2 kiwi indy app guys trying to make it, and thought this would be a good place to meet people and exchange info.  Our first app "myAdieu" was launched on facebook 2 days ago and we have more apps in development (it's slow going juggling this and day jobs though).  If you would like to see our app page including description click here:

http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=173251216035317&sk=info

Should I post about this app in the social networking forum?  I don't want to come off as spamming.  One thing I am interested in would be some of the techniques other developers use to get exposure.  We are starting to exhaust our own friends lists on facebook, and although advertising on facebook is highly effective, it ends up costing us about $1.10NZ per click on our ads.  Money is an issue with our limited budget so unfortunately we can't throw money at advertising.  We are investigating tech grants but are not sure yet how realistic this is.  I have contacted tech sections of several NZ papers but have not heard back yet.

Anyway, glad to be here and any feedback on the app would be helpful.

Cheers

Here is one of the fbook ads we're running (with variations of the image). It's getting good CTR but it just gets too expensive. I'll report back if we see any bumps through using fbook to run these.

ok we put up a new landing page:

http://myadieu.adappted.com/info.html

It's also got open graph so that if the link is shared in facebook it shows up nice. Going to see how the ads perform now with the landing page. The wall page as an entry point was a bit fugly.
