Hey there
My parents' current laptop (a 17" Dell) needs replacing. I've confirmed that they indeed do want a laptop (not desktop) with a screen of this size (they're in their 80s); they don't care about the weight/portability of it as they have an iPad Air 2 they use when on the go.
Looking at Pricespy, there's appears to always be a signficiant premium for buying a laptop of this size, with prices starting at $1,100; I'd really rather they didn't have to spend that or more, given what they use the laptop for (seriously, we're talking browsing, emails, word processing viewing photos and videos, plus a bit of solitaire!).
This has made me interested in the reconditioned Toshiba laptops 1day has available today; all are AMD-based with the main difference apparently being the processor (A8 versus A6 versus A4, plus the A6 model has 750GB HD versus 1T for the others).

For a maximum of $711 (for the A8 model), are they likely to find a better and/or more suitable deal, given their relatively low-end needs?
I see the resolution of these models is only 1600 x 900, which I know is low for any laptop (and a really low PPI for a 17" screen!), but this is I think the same or possibly even higher than their current model, and doesn't appear to affect them greatly (to be honest, they care more about the size of the text to help with legibility rather than the resolution).
Anyway, I'd really appreciate anyone's thoughts on this matter, especially the suitability of one of these models to meet their needs. Given the price difference between the slowest anad fastest processors on offer is only $20, I'm assuming they may as well go for the A8 model?
Thanks in advance.
