Hi.

Does anyone know whether the HP Probook 450 G4s that come with M.2 SSDs come with the hard drive mounting bracket or whether these have to be purchased separately (and if so how much the kit costs)? Also, does the CGA apply for something like an HP Probook bought for personal use (think I remember reading somewhere about the CGA only applying for consumer goods and HP says on their site that using 'non-approved parts' may void the warranty)? Thanks.

Unfortunately the mounting bracket isn't included and HP charge stupid money for these kinds of parts.

The most cost effective option would be to buy a model that ships with a 1TB hard drive and install your own M.2 SSD.

I'm not a lawyer, but imagine the CGA would apply if it was purchased for non-business use.

Actually, now that I have one, I can confirm they don't have the mounting bracket. $30 to order from their site. And they want $600 for a 2 Terabyte 2.5" HDD. Think I'll buy from somewhere else :) (only reason I would buy a drive from them anyway would be warranty concerns).

It doesn't matter if you use third-party parts like a hard drive, SSD or RAM. It just means those components won't be covered under the HP warranty.

I recall seeing a mention on their site that using non-approved parts might void the warranty. But for personal use the CGA applies anyway even though it is a 'business class' laptop, doesn't it. Either way, you would take anything you put in out anyway in case they replace it with a new one (in which case they wouldn't know). But yeah, I bet they don't sell many hard drives :)
