ok has the trench been done yet. from your house down to the boundary by the road. seems to be a lot of talk about this being needed to be done.

The trench was completed 2 weeks ago and the cable was laid in it Wednesday 8th April by a chorus / downer technician. How can that not be mentioned?

well i cant see anywhere that says that is completed the trench work. it says that all work is to be completed by the 25/4/09. but it is unclear on what other work is needed. im sorry but without talking to the guys at downers who are handling this im just guessing at what else is to be done.

UPDATE:

I was phoned on friday by telecom to ask whether the trench was done! i can't imagine how they could not know that they did it almost 3 weeks ago. When they come around 2 days in a row and lay the cable in a trench do they not tell anybody. Anyway i said no it was completed ages ago and you already sent someone to put a cable in and thats all done. So to that they replied ok will send someone out on monday to get you all connected up.!! ( if it was this simple why did this not happen weeks ago, it seems just because they didnt know that they had already done the cable laying).

I thought it would be a good idea to go up there this weekend to see if they had actually done anymore work (hadn't been up there for a week or so) It turned out that there was a telecom pillar at the top of the drive, on further investigation it had the cable from the house running into it and also a large cable containing roughly 50 pairs (presumably the main cable from the road). They were both looped inside the pillar but not connected to each other.

So hopefully today they will connect everything up finally. No doubt they will forget to connect up the internal wiring to the lead in cable under the house and that will be my next complaint.

PS
The telecom pillar has the numbers:

FS
13
1

in that order if that means anything to anyone.
Also the post next to the pillar has some handwritten markings on it:
Top:

2xJNTS
5.3M

then a 25x next to the no digging logo.

See pics for more detail

yea thats a brand new pillar, 2xjnt 5.3m means there is 2 joints in cable 5.3 meters from that post, cable is a 25 pair with .63 conductor, grease filled.
