Many threads on here are negative or complaints, so here's a positive one.

I decided to get an S4 on Telecom, as 2degrees coverage wasn't good where I want to use my phone, and they won't roam to Vodafone in areas they think they cover. I went into a store, there was a ten minute wait for a staff member, but once I saw someone it took 30 minutes to get the S4, transfer my number, and put the phone on credit (hey it was interest free, why not!).

The number ported to Telecom in about four hours. I was initially a bit confused about how to set things up like voicemail, but after calling Telecom they told me about the booklet in with the SIM card, as well as telling me what I wanted to know. Their helpdesk answers calls reasonably quickly. The phone works really well. The network coverage is really good. Data speed is really good in central Wellington. They even called me to follow up to make sure I understood my plan, my phone, and offer a free lesson. Paying my first bill by credit card took a bit of time because of their slightly inflexible phone tree - I hit the wrong button once and would've had to hang up and start again so instead I hit 0 to talk to a person - but once direct debit kicks in no problem.

So far Telecom is doing everything right. Fingers crossed things continue on this way :)

Same experience here, switched over last week due to reception issues at my house with my old provider. After a bit of confusion (Me thinking I had been sold a normal sim, not a blank one) called through, spoke to someone in less then 5 minutes, ported my number over within the hour and was all up and running. The staff I spoke to in store (Oamaru) and over the phone were more than helpful and made sure I understand each step along the way. A good start with Telecom, and hopefully it continues!

Great to hear! I'm not a mobile guy, but I do know the mobile team put a lot of effort into making our mobile processes and mobile network the best it can be!

I've also never had any issue with Telecom and sometimes wonder why I seem to be the only lucky one.

I too changed back to Telecom, got my Samsung ATIV S interest free. Ordered it on a Tuesday, here on Wednesday, new number worked instantly, even had the odd text and a phone call from a staff member checking in case I needed help setting various things up. Amazing service :)

I'm going to overlay both Vodafone and Telecom on a map one day and make a layer showing where provider covers and provider 2 doesn't one day just to prevent you from saying that ;)

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

No worries also don't forget to include our Sure Signal units where No mobile coverage is from standard cell sites from any carrier and don't forget to add RBI coverage maybe you could do 4G at the same time?

My experience with Telecom mobile has also been very positive - polite & knowledgeable staff, things being done as promised, and a mobile data connection that I can actually use!

I got 250MB more data recently at no extra cost and the data usage was reset when it was it done.

Telecom is doing it right.
