Last Tuesday, I sent my HTC Titan away for repair, as it would not charge.

The Leading Edge store pulled up my proof of purchase without having to be asked.

The unit was tested and found to have a faulty PCB, so they replaced the phone, and got the new one back to me by today (the following Tuesday).

No fuss, all accessories were returned (the microSD was taped to the back cover, and the stylus was in place). The new phone was obviously a clean OS install, no worries here, all PIM data is held on our Exchange server, and I had run a full backup of the phone before I sent it. So a simple restore was all that was required (though I did discover SPB backup didnt save my WPA keys, my custom CDMA connection details, my pop/imap email account settings (or mail for same). - but again, no big deal if you sync with a server).

Excluding a day of travel at either end, they only had it for four days.

Good experience - although I know not everyone gets fast great service everywhere all the time (with any business), I just felt that it was worth people seeing that repairs can happen quickly and without fuss. All we seem to see on the forums are the horror stories!

I was offered a loan phone, but declined, as I have mobiles coming out my @... uhh... ears...

Disclosure: I work for Gen-i (Nothing to do with mobile), and the phone was sent away under my own name, not a company name.

Last time a stylus was 'lost' by telegistics they sent us a new one out immediately.  Of course, we finally found the original one in one of those nifty pink bubble wrap bags.  It had not been placed in the handset, and was lying flat at the bottom of the bag.  At least we have a spare now!  And the escalation process is good.  Second time in?  It gets escalated.  Sometimes they even get 'esculated'.  Depends on who's dealing with the job.  LOL.
