Having some trouble with my new Skinny ADSL2+ connection.
Just putting this out here if anyone has any good ideas or seen this kind of problem before.
I will write it in a time line as this will be quicker to read
Feb 1 - Skinny modem arrives - Test modem to see sync speed - about 17000Bb/s download - Then plug Slingshot modem back in
Feb4 - Slingshot disconnection date - Called Slingshot myself to disconnect
- Skinny Connection date
Line Sync speed 17500Kb/s download
Feb 5-6 Internet still up using Slingshot modem (seems Chorus had not done anything) Line Sync speed 17500Kb/s download
Feb 7-8 - No Line Signal ( seems Chorus guys did something bad ..
Feb 9 - DSL line up Line Sync speed 13000Kb/s download ( I was told that Chorus had connected me to faulty port ? and didnt check their work to see if the line came back up)
- Had to call Skinny to finish provisioning my connection :( They did then get it working over the phone..
- Restarted modem a few times.. Sync Speeds all over the show .. 13000Kb/s then 6500Kb/s then 10000Kb/s :(
Feb 13 - Now - Chorus Techs have been to my home 3 more times - Mostly trying to blame my side for problems.. I have had 2 line tests done by Skinny and on my 3rd tonight (24-48hours they said)
I have asked Skinny for a report of what work has been done on my Line from Chorus because I keep telling them its a Port or DSLAM problem. My connection now seems to be mostly Sync 7000Kb/s
Using the Huawei HF659 modem from Skinny and the NetCom NB604N from Slingshot
Only 1 Connected Phone jack in house connected Directly to outside line to Road side.
I am 1500m from the Kaitaia Exchange. I am told i am just outside VDSL coverage.
I have attached 1 screenshots of my connection before Switching to Skinny ( so before my DSLAM was switched) using the Netcom rounter
and another screen shot after the switch if you like to compare.. I new my SNR is very different :/

(Slingshot before change)
(After Change on Skinny) - Keep in mind this is a good connect screen shot mostly 7000kb/s)
(This is on the Huawei modem on Skinny) This is the normal Sync I get now :(
