I'm on the fastest option available for a Spark user - working from home on a UK network. Performance this weekend has been crap.

Last time I tested I recall getting 940Mbps download and approx 450Mbps upload. Those numbers have been more or less consistent since I got on this plan.

Testing just now I am consistently getting 70-80Mbps down and 450-480Mbps up. That seems... poor.

Anyone else seeing this kind of slowdown?

Really we do need further details to comment..

Target test server? wireless or wired? other network load? router? location? list goes on..

i can say that i'm aware of no issues at a mass.

OK. I'm testing using Ookla. I used several devices to eliminate the machine as a factor. I've observed a similar downstream reduction on wireless as on ethernet. The numbers I quoted in the OP are ethernet, wireless is a little slower. Right now I'm seeing 50 down, 90 up on my phone.

I'm located north of Wellington, south of Porirua.

I'm not aware of any issues at the moment. Both of my Fibre Max lines are fine.

However, I will add that I have seen recent stats showing that over 97% of Spark helpdesk calls related to Fibre Max performance are not issues with the network.

Due to the incredibly diverse range of things that can cause measurement issues with Fibre Max, and the fact that it's almost never a network issue, I really need a high level of accurate troubleshooting background and info before I'll take more than a cursory look.

Cheers - N

Just repeated the test on my three main devices and the speeds are now much, much better: 590, 780 and 920 down, 470 x3 up.

Whatever was going on, now seems to have gone away. /relieved.
