Received this yesterday, considering we are on a $59 10 gb plan and confusing nature. Rang spark and even they didn’t think it was legitimate yet sent from spark email. If they’re gonna remove $10 discount off then at least sign the letter 😀

Doesn't look legit to me, "We have recently talked to you", shouldn't that be "spoken"? And this is referring to a plan you are not on is another red flag.

Standards are slipping " and we will not be getting the credit" instead of you. "Rest assured that this will not happen again". We all know that mistakes always happen, the meaning must be you will never get another recurring credit 😉

Is there even a Julieann at that email address?

@hio77 Can probably tell you for sure.

You can usually impersonate domains through online platforms such as FakeMailer. But if it was a scam I don't understand how they'd get anything from you? Maybe they're awaiting a reply to say "No this is incorrect. Let me give you back the $10" or something like that. I'd also think it would have an appropriate header with the Spark logo etc.

Could be legit.....or a mistake.  What's missing is any reference to external sites or clicking links.

Philippines is where Spark's offshore reps are based.

Check the headers of the email - probably find it may have the correct email address, but nothing else matches.

I dunno, any time a foreign rep has emailed me and been legit after a phone call or livechat their address has always been @xtra.co.nz and often something like agent1234@xtra.co.nz

Edit: I just had a look thru my e-mails and did find a chat transcript from a support agent asking me to e-mail them at T<group of numbers>@spark

Can you dm me your account number and I'll speak to the right folk.

Normally any sort of audit wouldn't come from an agent and their manger. Quite possible it's actually that the agent did make a mistake and are trying to correct it.

I won't speak to if its right or not always two parts to the story, and that ain't my call to make :)

Look at the email in an outlook client, view the headers, it will stand out like sore thumb if its fake

Looks like  a scam email to me. Apologise is also spelt apologize, which is the american way of spelling it, so it doesn't look like it originates from NZ. It is also poorly written with long sentences and no comas.  Also the footer disclaimer message doesn't look like the right sort for a company, and is also not well written.

I'm not so sure - the Philippines use US English don't they? Isn't that where some staff are located? The footer disclaimer is the same as I've had from legit Spark e-mails (I checked earlier to see if it matched) - though that doesn't make it legitimate without a doubt

Yes Filipino's use American English and Spark's offshore call centre is in the Phillipines.
