Hey guys,

Just looking for some recommendations for a wireless router for use with cable at home.

Prefer to have draft-n but not necessary and will need at least 4 network ports on it.

Would like to keep it between 100 and 200 bucks.

I'd look at the Asus RT-N16, it's about $200.

I use a Belkin F5D8236au4. Basic, but it does the job. you can pick them up at harvey norman for around $100 at times.

I don't know why people bother with draft-n kit when the fastest you will get over cable is 10mb.

I would get an asus wl520u2.
Cheap as chips and does everything you want and more

Because they don't want to buy old technology or they might be moving files around to a server plugged in on a 100Mb/1Gb LAN.

Most home users would be happy with 11b in reality, but that's no reason to recommend it!

802.11N also have better coverage, at least in my place when I use G/B with N router. I did find it holds better connection with G/B. So yeah, it is cheaper to get N in long term even if the modem is 10Mbps max.

Internet is my backyard...

Asus RT-N16 vs Asus WL-520GU

Cpu: 533mhz vs 240mhz
Ram: 128MB vs 16MB
Flash: 32MB vs 4MB
Lan: 1000 Base T vs 100 Base T
Wireless: 802.11n Draft (300Mbit) vs 802.11g (54Mbit)
Price: ~$200 vs ~$90

I'd say gigabit lan, wireless N and 2x better hardware is worth the +$100 or so.
