Hi All,
I'm looking at VOIP for a small group of companies:
The requirements are:
Company 1:
1 Primary Line (6 terminating numbers)
1 Fax to email
Company 2:
1 Primary Line (1 terminating number)
Company 3:
1 Primary Line (1 terminating number)
1 Fax to email

Company 4:
1 Primary Line (1 terminating number)
1 Fax to email

There will be 5~10 seats.

Each company should be billed for their own ongoing costs.

Currently all services are provided by telecom and all numbers will need to be ported.

Any recommendations on hardware (already have some Linksys ideas) and providers would be most appreciated.

Services are pretty easy, but a couple of questions before hardware and requirements.

Comapny 1.
Needs 6 DDI's , do you want 6 concurrent calls or looking for a SIP trunking option ?

Are these all in the same location ?, and what type of connection will they be running off , same connection or each has there own.

Porting is also easy, you just need to make sure that companyscan support porting for your locations.

Yes I am a employee of WxC (My Profile) ... but I do have my own opinions as well Wink

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply.
Company 1 has 1 primary phone number and 5 redundant/historic numbers. Currently they only have the facility for 1 concurrent call. 2/3 concurrent calls may be an advantage.

All companies are moving to the same location in December. This is the current office of Company 4 and internet is currently being provided on Company 4's telecom connection (ADSL). Changing the connection method is not a problem. It is our intention that there will be only one internet connection.

Uptime is an important consideration for this project as well so the transition would need to occur quickly and systems would need to be in place for provider/internet outages.

You could take a look a the Zultys IP PBX range.
They can do SIP Trunking right out of the box and Fax / Voicemail to Email is a standard feature.

Where in NZ are you located?

Running such a setup over ADSL would be exceptionally risky, your first thing is to really look at what options are available for connectivity.

I've done a similar install this weekend and used a dedicated appliance for it that we imported from ATP, all solid state and a user friendly interface.
Full ADSL would be risky, you could look at Vodafone at home wireless unit's and connect these to PBX, this also works well to an Asterisk system.
Utilising ADSL as secondary lines is a good cheap alternative but still good idea to have normal line also.

regards
