I'm new to Linux and am struggling getting something (that I thought would be easy) working on my home network.

I have two Raspberry Pis and a Windows 10 PC. Each Pi has a folder that I would like the other Pi to have read/write access to, and I would like the Windows PC to have read-only access to both. I don't want anyone else on the LAN to have access so would like password protection.

Can someone point me in the right direction here?

Thanks guys, I hadn't done the password bit, but now that I have I'm getting prompted in windows for login credentials (looks promising), but then get the message that it's not accessible?

Also in testing when I have it set to public=yes and writeable=yes I can view the shared folder contents, but get an "access denied" error when attempting to write.

EDIT: OK, I sorted the write problems on a public share my altering the actual file permissions in linux. But am still unable to access the share that isn't public - rejects credentials.

Linux side of it all working, but was still having issues connecting from Windows. Weirdly a Windows reboot seems to have sorted it.

... and that's the reason we call it the "Microsoft Solution" at work... ;-)
