Cooked some ribs after a long hiatus on the pellet smoker tonight

Quite possibly the best thing I’ve cooked so far, they were delicious

The rub I used:
2 tablespoons pepper
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon paprika
1/2 tablespoon onion powder

Used 1 part water/1 part apple cider vinegar for the spritz

Kia ora team,

I have one of these which I was planning to reuse... I'm guessing it acted as a wood BBQ at some stage in the past. Not a fan tbh but I guess someone went to a lot of effort to make it.

I was also considering knocking it down to build a pizza oven however my concern is that it takes a while for these to reach the required temperature (vs say. Ooni Fyra)

Name the go to BBQ for 2021\2022 season...

I have a chargrill one, which hasn't had any love this winter; it has been outside.

For this season, i'd like to go (dare I say) gas rather than charcoal.

Some suggestions please...

Yes I would also like some recommendations, esp in the sub $500-$1000 bracket.

My 10 year old gas one is on the way out.

I’ve been happy with my Longhorn from Tradetested. I’ve had it 5 years and it’s good value for what it is.

I like the look of those Handle9.

Being able to cook a whole chicken, rotisserie and they do a gas fired pizza oven!

Yes - I have a signet and really like it.  I particularly like the full cast aluminium fire box.  Find the side burner a bit of a waste of time (blows out in the wind).  I also prefer cast iron grids, rather than the stainless steel.

I have just bought the Broil King smoker (sits on the flame tamers) after having used a generic smoker box with results I was really happy with.  (Pork spare ribs, dry rub, then smoked for a couple of hours).

With the broil king smoker, it looks like you can fill it with a liquid to steam a slow cook too.

Looks like a gas bottle and countertop bbq went on the right side?

As a charcoal only person I'd be converting or replacing it :)

I had a 800kg clay brick pizza oven from Portugal at my previous house and it would take perhaps 45 minutes to heat with good quality wood. Could probably go quicker but you risk cracking them if you heat too fast after not having used it in a while.
